Rick Harley was appointed a Trustee of Adelaide Workers' Homes in 1983 and was then elected Chairman in December 2020.

Rick is a senior partner in the Commercial and Property Department of a leading Adelaide law firm. He has experience working with property developers and local government concerning significant land division, multi-dwelling constructions projects and public infrastructure projects.

Rick has a particular interest in the provision of affordable housing by the not for profit sector so that individuals and families have access to affordable housing in SA. He was for many years the solicitor for Defence Housing Authority in SA providing housing for serving veterans and their families.

Rick has an interest in the provision of support services especially accommodation for the veteran's community and was a member of the Board of RSL SA / NT for 10 years and the RSL National Solicitor from 2014 until recently.

Rick has been involved in a number of community-based organisations over the years including the South Australian Community Football League as an advisor to the League, its constituent clubs and athletes and as Chair of the Neil Sachse Foundation which raises funding to support spinal cord injury research.
